🧾 Ingredients

  • 3–4 large potatoes (thinly sliced)
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 2 tbsp butter (melted)
  • 1/2 cup milk or cream
  • 1 egg (optional, helps bind)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Optional: chopped parsley, chili flakes

🍳 Instructions

1) Prep potatoes

  • Slice potatoes very thin (use a knife or mandoline if possible)
  • Pat dry to remove extra moisture

2) Make creamy mix

In a bowl, mix:

  • milk/cream
  • melted butter
  • garlic powder
  • salt & pepper
  • (optional egg)

3) Layer

  • On a baking tray lined with parchment:
    • Lay a thin layer of potato slices
    • Sprinkle cheese
    • Repeat layers (like scalloped potatoes)

4) Roll (key step)

  • Carefully lift one edge using parchment paper
  • Slowly roll into a log shape
  • Press gently to hold together

5) Bake

  • Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 35–45 minutes
  • Until golden, soft inside, crispy edges

🍽️ Serve

  • Slice into rounds
  • Serve with ketchup, garlic mayo, or chili sauce

💡 Tips

  • Thinner slices = easier rolling
  • Add cooked chicken or beef for a fuller meal
  • Sprinkle extra cheese on top before baking for a crusty finish
