🍗 Oven Fried Chicken Legs (crispy without deep frying)

Chicken drumsticks made in the oven can turn out crispy on the outside, juicy inside—no deep fryer needed.


đź§‚ Ingredients

  • 6–8 chicken drumsticks
  • 1 cup yogurt or buttermilk (for tenderness)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp chili powder (optional)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (or crushed cornflakes for extra crunch)
  • 2–3 tbsp oil (for brushing or spraying)

🔥 Instructions

1. Marinate

  • Mix chicken with yogurt/buttermilk, salt, pepper, and spices
  • Let it sit at least 30 minutes (better: 2–4 hours)

2. Coat

  • Roll each piece in breadcrumbs or crushed cornflakes
  • Press gently so coating sticks well

3. Bake

  • Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F)
  • Place chicken on a greased rack or tray
  • Lightly brush or spray oil on top

4. Cook time

  • Bake 35–45 minutes
  • Flip halfway for even crispiness
  • Chicken is done when inside reaches 74°C / 165°F

🍽️ Tips for extra crispiness

  • Use a wire rack (air circulation = crisp skin)
  • Don’t skip oil spray—it helps “fried” texture
  • Cornflakes = crunchier than breadcrumbs
