I don’t buy bread anymore – the easiest bread recipe without kneading or eggs!

Posted on April 7, 2026 by Admin

Ah, that sounds perfect for anyone who wants fresh bread without the fuss! Here’s a simple, no-knead, egg-free bread recipe you can try at home:

Easy No-Knead Bread (Egg-Free)

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour (or bread flour)
  • 1 ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar (optional, helps yeast)
  • 1 tsp instant yeast
  • 1 ½ cups warm water (about 100–110°F / 37–43°C)
  • 1–2 tsp olive oil (optional, for softer crust)

Instructions:

  1. Mix Dry Ingredients:
In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, sugar, and yeast.
  2. Add Water:
Pour in the warm water and olive oil. Stir with a wooden spoon until a sticky dough forms. Don’t worry if it looks messy—this is normal.
  3. First Rise:
Cover the bowl with a clean towel or plastic wrap. Let the dough rise at room temperature for 8–12 hours (overnight works best). The dough should double in size and become bubbly.
  4. Shape & Second Rise:
Lightly flour a work surface. Gently scrape the dough out and shape it into a round loaf. Place it on a parchment-lined baking tray. Cover and let it rise for 30–60 minutes.
  5. Bake:
Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). If you like a crispy crust, place an empty oven-safe dish on the bottom rack and add a cup of hot water when you put the bread in—it creates steam. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the bread sounds hollow when tapped.
  6. Cool & Enjoy:
Let the bread cool on a wire rack for at least 20 minutes before slicing.

✅ Tips:

  • You can add herbs, garlic, or seeds to the dough for extra flavor.
  • For softer bread, brush the crust with a little olive oil after baking.
  • This bread freezes well—just slice and freeze for quick use.

If you want, I can also give you a 5-minute prep, overnight no-knead version that literally makes itself while you sleep, so you wake up to fresh bread every morning.

Do you want me to share that version too?
