Biscuits & Sausage Gravy

Posted on April 6, 2026 by Admin

Now that’s real comfort food 😄—Biscuits & Sausage Gravy is rich, hearty, and seriously satisfying.

🍽️ Biscuits & Sausage Gravy

🧾 Ingredients

For the Sausage Gravy:

  • 250–300g breakfast sausage (or minced beef/chicken as a substitute)
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • Salt & black pepper (go heavy on the pepper for that classic taste)

For the Biscuits:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup cold butter
  • ¾ cup milk

👩‍🍳 Instructions

🥩 Make the Sausage Gravy

  1. Cook sausage in a pan over medium heat until browned.
  2. Don’t drain all the fat—leave about 2 tbsp in the pan.
  3. Sprinkle in flour and stir (this makes a roux).
  4. Slowly pour in milk, stirring constantly to avoid lumps.
  5. Simmer until thick and creamy.
  6. Season with salt and lots of black pepper.

🥐 Make the Biscuits

  1. Preheat oven to 220°C (425°F).
  2. Mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
  4. Add milk and mix gently to form dough.
  5. Roll out, cut into rounds, and place on a tray.
  6. Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden.

🍴 Serve

  • Split warm biscuits in half
  • Pour hot sausage gravy over the top

💡 Tips

  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of garlic powder or chili flakes to the gravy
  • If you want it richer, use half milk + half cream
  • Store-bought biscuits work if you’re short on time

If you want, I can give you a super quick 10-minute version or a healthier twist that still tastes amazing 👍
