Oven Baked BBQ Ribs

Ingredients (serves 2–4)

  • 2–3 lbs pork ribs
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp chili powder or cayenne (optional for heat)
  • ½ cup BBQ sauce (store-bought or homemade)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven & Prep Ribs
    • Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
    • Remove the thin membrane on the back of the ribs for more tender meat.
  2. Season the Ribs
    • Mix brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and chili powder.
    • Rub the mixture evenly over both sides of the ribs.
  3. Wrap and Bake
    • Wrap the ribs tightly in aluminum foil (creates a steaming effect).
    • Place on a baking sheet and bake for 2.5–3 hours, until the meat is tender.
  4. Add BBQ Sauce & Broil
    • Remove ribs from oven, carefully unwrap, and brush generously with BBQ sauce.
    • Optional: Broil for 3–5 minutes to caramelize the sauce, but watch carefully so it doesn’t burn.
  5. Serve & Enjoy
    • Let the ribs rest for a few minutes, then slice and serve with your favorite sides like coleslaw, baked beans, or corn on the cob.
