For the patties:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/3 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt & pepper to taste

For the onion gravy:

  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt & pepper to taste

🍳 Instructions:

  1. Make patties:
    Mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Shape into oval patties.
  2. Brown the steaks:
    Heat a skillet over medium heat. Cook patties 4–5 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
  3. Cook onions:
    In the same pan, melt butter and cook sliced onions until soft and caramelized.
  4. Make gravy:
    Sprinkle flour over onions, stir for 1 minute. Slowly add beef broth while stirring to avoid lumps. Add Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Simmer until thickened.
  5. Combine:
    Return patties to the pan. Cover and simmer 10–15 minutes until cooked through and juicy.
  6. Serve:
    Spoon rich onion gravy over the steaks. Perfect with mashed potatoes or rice!
